Our History

Readying For Another Century Of Service - The Marrocco Memorial Chapel was created back in September of 2000 when James J. Marrocco and his foresight renovated an expansive building at 470 Colfax Avenue.

This welcoming facility greets visitors with stately columns, a portico to protect passengers in case of inclement weather and a large adjacent lot. Once inside, guests can’t help but notice the stately fireplace in the gracious foyer. From there, visitors continue into one of the four viewing chapels, three of which can be transformed into one large room, depending upon individual needs. Other thoughtful features include a handicapped-accessible entrance and restroom, a library resource center and family conference rooms. Marrocco Memorial Chapel has a Tribute Program, which allows families to view a DVD video tribute to their loved one during the visiting time. Within the near future, these videos will also be available on the Marrocco website for family members or visitors who could not make the viewing.

And finally, to celebrate four generations of service, Jim Marrocco has added representations from each generation to his Home. Guests will see an oil painting of The Last Supper, created in 1951, by his great-grandfather Peter A. Marrocco, Sr. A painting of San Vito de Cadore, Italy was painted by his grandfather Henry F. Marrocco, Sr and hangs in the the Lincoln viewing room. And finally, the third generation is marked by several statues brought back from Florence, Italy by his father Henry F. Marrocco, Jr. As a result, Jim Marrocco has created a warm, welcoming funeral home, that will make you feel comfortable and invited at a time when you need it most. Whether your requirements include pre-planning so that your wishes are recorded and executed as you desire, or at-need services, we would be happy to discuss all your options. Please call us at (973) 249-6111.

Online Memorial

We can create a customized, online memorial for you to share with family and friends. The memorial includes the obituary and any photographs you wish to provide. It will serve as a place for visitors to post condolences, share memories, upload photos, and light candles in honor of your loved one.

Tribute Video

We can produce a personal tribute video that can be played at the service and online. Simply provide us with the photographs you want to include and we will transform them into a video celebration of your treasured memories. DVDs or digital files of the video are also available.

Ordering Flowers

We make it easy for friends and family to send flowers to your home or service to honor your loved one. We have partnered with local florists to offer the convenience of ordering directly from the obituary page of our website. You can also use this feature to select the flowers you would like at the service. This is a secure way to choose beautiful arrangements from the privacy and comfort of your home.

Sharing Service Details

We reduce the stress of contacting those who need the details of the service for your loved one. We post the dates and times of the service as part of the online memorial on our website. You can then either share the memorial on your Facebook or Twitter page or copy the details from the site into an email or text. Both options give you the peace of mind that you have provided the necessary information to those who need it.
