William J. Wood Jr.

Wood Jr., William J., 88 of Cape May on January 7, 2009. Beloved husband of Jennie (Ochs) Wood. Loving father to Maryanne Smith of Wilmington, NC, Ruth Waller of Clifton, NJ, Michael Wood of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, James Wood of Clifton, NJ, Patrick Wood of Cape May, NJ and William Wood III of Rio Rico, Arizona. Mr. Wood is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Mr. Wood was born in Newark and lived in Clifton before moving to Cape May where he resided for 25 years. He was a graduate of the Rutgers Stonier Graduate School of Banking, the New Jersey Bankers Association Public Relations School and the American Institute of Banking. He worked at the First National Bank of New Jersey in Paterson for 43 years retiring as a Vice President/Branch Manager. Mr. Wood was a Marine Veteran of WWII having served in the Pacific Theater; he was a parishioner of our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church in Cape May, NJ. Mr. Wood was a member of the Kiwanis of Cape May and a former parishioner of St. Philip s RC Church in Clifton. Visiting will be Sunday 7-9 PM at the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton. Interment will be Monday at 1 PM at Cape May County Veterans Cemetery in Cape May Court House, NJ.
