Tina Louise Priolo

Tina Louise Palmeri Priolo, 76, passed away holding the hand of her beloved husband of 48 years, Joseph Robert Priolo, on the morning of December 19th, 2024. A lifelong residence of Clifton, NJ, Tina was born to the late Anthony Palmeri, MD and Mary Teresa Palmeri. Tina was a graduate of Lacadaire Academy in Upper Montclair. Some of the most fun years of her life were spent forging lifelong friendships at Manhattanville College. Tina went on to receive her masters in nursing from Columbia University, a degree that she would cherish and utilize in her years working at both Columbia Presbyterian and Beth Israel Medical centers before becoming a school nurse who touched the lives of countless children and young adults in the numerous schools in which she served as an employee of the Passaic County Educational Services Commission and the Department of Health. Affectionately referred to as the “Mayor” of Clifton, Tina convinced Robert to leave Brooklyn to settle in Clifton where they would raise their 4 children Annamarie McGannon (James) of Chatham, Tony (predec.), Mary Teresa Aviles (Daniel) of Montclair and Bridget Priolo of Brooklyn, NY. Robert and Tina devoted their lives to their local parishes, St Andrew the Apostle and Saint Cassain Church, and to every school that their children attended, especially the Felician School for Exceptional Children and Mount Saint Dominic Academy in Caldwell, New Jersey. Through those organizations and as active members of the Upper Montclair Country Club, Robert and Tina formed countless friendships that they will always cherish. Her greatest accomplish in life, however, was here 5 grandchildren who were the joy of her life. William, Jack, Julia, Matthew and Julian will miss their Mema beyond words. Tina’s feisty and fun spirit will be missed by her beloved cousins who she considered sisters and brothers. The family will receive their friends and relatives on Sunday, December 22nd from 4-8 pm at Morocco Memorial Chapel. Please dress festively for a Mass of Christian Burial being held at 12 pm on Monday, December 23rd at St. Cassian R.C. Church in Upper Montclair. The interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson. Memorial contributions to the Michael C. Gascoyne Memorial Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
