Tatarenko, Stefan, 62. long time resident of Clifton, passed away on November 12, 2009, after a long and courageous battle. He was at his home surrounded by loved ones. Beloved husband to Anna and devoted father to Peter and Andrew .. Brother to: Alexandria Kowalenko, . Loving uncle, cousin, godfather and brother-in-law to many. He was predeceased by his parents Wasyl & Maria of Howell and his sister Raya of Ukraine. Mr. Tatarenko was the current President, choir member and parishioner of the Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Ascension Church in Clifton and an active member of the Ukrainian Community. He was a United States Vietnam Army Veteran and had been stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas, a former Clifton Board of Education member for 6 years as well as a Clifton City Councilman for 8 years. In addition to his community services, Stefan made a successful career in the textile industry, working at both Burlington Knit and Safer Textiles. He will be remembered by his bright smile and ability to entertain an audience with both a microphone and accordion in hand. Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton on Saturday at 8:30 AM. Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church at 9AM. Interment St. Andrew s Cemetery So.Bound Brook Visiting Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Parastas Friday 7:30 PM . In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated
