Stanley Wax

Stanley Wax passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Green Hills in West Orange. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 10, 1918, as the fourth child to Hattie (Kaufman) and George Wax. He was predeceased by his brother Leslie Wax and sister Vivian Koenige and survived by his sister Mildred Gordon who resides in Pensacola, Florida. He married Ruth Wax (nee Berry) in 1950 with whom he enjoyed over 60 years of marriage. . They had two daughters, Jody Wax of Amherst, Ma and Amy Wax-Orloff of Montclair, NJ. He leaves behind his wife Ruth, daughter Jody Wax and her husband Thomas Butler, daughter Amy Wax-Orloff and her husband Denis Orloff and 5 grandchildren: Audrey and Elena Butler and Isaac, Elias and Haniya Orloff. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and trained as a Navigator in World War II. He also attended night school at Brooklyn PolyTech Institute for many years. He was a secretary of the Brooklyn Engineers Club and was employed as an engineer for Lummus Company for over 30 years. His subsequent venture was in Real Estate development. He was responsible for introducing the Camelot Development in Berkeley Heights and New Providence. Ruth and Stanley were members of the Wedgwood Society. They developed an expertise of Wedgwood rare pieces and antiques and were dealers for over 20 years. Stanley and Ruth enjoyed most of their time in New Jersey and traveled between homes in New Jersey and Florida for 18 years. His main claim to success was his role of grandfather in which he inspired and supported his beloved grandchildren. Arrangements by Powell-Marrocco Funeral Home 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton.
