Rita Riggio

Riggio, Rita (Maloney) on January 18, 2011 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, of Wayside, Ocean Twp., NJ, formerly of Wayne. She died after a long struggle with lung cancer. She was 84 and was born in Hackensack; she was raised in Teaneck and lived in Paterson before moving to Wayne. She attended East Side High School in Paterson, the Juliard School of Music and Barbazon School of modeling, both in NYC. She is survived by her husband of 62 years James V. Riggio. Her cousins Melba La Rosa and Brad La Rosa of Hackensack, Sandra and Ronald Martincavage of Lancanster, PA. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Lou Cunningham of Oakton, VA, four nieces and eight grand nieces and nephews. Before retiring she was the bookkeeper for Alco Sheet Metal Co. in Clifton, she was also bookkeeper for the former Scordato s Restaurant in Paterson and Guido s Restaurant in Hackensack. Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton on Tuesday at 11 AM. Cremation Private. Visiting Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In Lieu of flowers donations to the Monmouth County ASPCA (260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724) would be appreciated.
