Philip J. Jasper

Philip Jasper, MD of Passaic, NJ passed away on May 1, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Vincenza (Morici) Jasper. Loving father of Mrs. Carmel Kostiuk and her husband George, Dr. Gabriel Jasper, Dr. Josephine Jasper, the late Dr. Theodore Jasper and his wife Dr. Tiziana Pensabeni - Jasper, Mrs. Maria Carusone and her husband Joseph, and Mrs. Vincenza Paz. Devoted grandfather to Alexandria, Felicia, Josephine, Gabriella, Luca, Daniela, Teddy, Philip, Alfredo and Joseph. He is also survived by his great grandsons GJ & Jerome Alan and his beloved bird Larry.

He was born in South Amboy and lived in Passaic for many years. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s College and the University of Rome, where he also lectured. He was a member of the Stafff at Passaic General Hospital. St. Mary’s Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital in Hoboken and Palisades general Hospital. Dr. Jasper was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Medical Society of NJ, the AMA, AUA, Clinical Institute of Urology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, UMDNJ and the Italian Society of Urology. He served as Medical Director and Past President of Medical Staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic. He was named Physician of the year in 1988.

His hobbies included sailing, gardening and playing the mandolin. He raced in several Marion Bermuda Races and played with the Bloomfield Mandolin Orchestra.

Funeral from Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Passaic at 10 AM. Interment East Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visiting on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 7 pm to 9 pm and Friday, May 5, 2023 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm.
