It is with great sadness that the family of Michal Kowalczyk announce his passing.
Michal Kowalczyk was born in Florynka, Poland on October 7, 1928. During World War II he was taken to a work camp in Germany until the end of the war. After World War II he and his family were resettled to Southwestern Poland where he lived for many years until he immigrated to the United States of America in January 1977. He lived in Passaic, Clifton and Rochelle Park, New Jersey.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anna (Kuzmicz), daughter Stefania, son-in-law Jaroslaw, grandchildren Anna and Piotr and his wife Ann, great-grandchildren Michael and Anastasia, and his sister Stefania Worchacz who lives in Poland.
He is predeceased by his daughter Janina and son Wladyslaw and his sister Maria Gela.
A visitation and celebration of Michal’s life will be held on Monday, February 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton, NJ.
On Tuesday, February 13, funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 217 President Street, Passaic, NJ at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery 120 Saddle River Ave, South Hackensack, NJ.
