Michael Bilas ( Mike), 87, of Lauderhill, Florida, formerly of Clifton, New Jersey, passed away on July 15, 2011 after a brief illness. Born in Passaic, NJ, Mike was a lifelong resident of Clifton before moving to Florida in 1979. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving on PT boats in the South Pacific for two years. Upon his return, he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, obtaining a degree in Business. He was employed by the US Postal Service in Clifton, retiring in 1979. He married the former Alice Fischer and they retired to Florida, where he spent many wonderful years with new friends, socializing and playing golf. Mike was a kind and giving man, who always lent a helping hand and was loved and admired by all who knew him. Mr. Bilas is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Alice ( Fischer), his stepdaughters Elaine Waller ( Rich) of Bernardsville, NJ, Rita Boyle ( Gene), of Bedminster, NJ and Maryann Kay ( Michael) of Ocean Grove, NJ, all of whom adored him. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Eugene Boyle IV, Kristin Waller, Jenna Boyle and Alexandra Waller. Services will be at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton, NJ on Thursday with visitation from 10 am to 1 pm and internment following at CrestHaven Memorial Cemetery, Clifton, NJ. The family will also be receiving visitors in the evening at the home of Richard and Elaine Waller.
