Zwiazek, Margaret Catherine (Schlegel), 91, cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on November 1, 2014 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Albin, Loving mother of Cecilia and husband, Alan Zalkind, of Montclair; her son Albert and wife, Susan Zwiazek, of Clifton; grandfather of Joy Zalkind and her husband Albert Licon, Polly Zalkind and her husband Shahan Stepanian, Alex and Kyle Zwiazek. Great Grandmother to Alice Margaret Stepanian, born August 18, 2014. Margaret is predeceased by her sibings: Frank, Anthony, Joseph & Irene Schlegel, Elizabeth Kartz, Anna Oswald, Emily Korb and Mary Kinailuk Margaret was born in Passaic on September 13, 1923, she was the second youngest of nine children of Anna (Galowitz) and Anton Schlegel and attended Passaic Public Schools and lived in Clifton since 1942. She married Albin Edward Zwiazek on June 21, 1942 in St. Stephen s Church in Passaic. She worked as a seamstress for Valmore and then an assembler for Shulton for 30 years until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Teamsters Union. Maragret was devoted to her family. She was married to Albin for 71 years until his death earlier this year. She was a wonderful homemaker and baker, known for her pies and cookies. She had a special relationship with each of her four grandchildren. Margaret was quiet, but strong person, whose love and support made all things possible for her family. She truly was the wind beneath our wings. Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton on Tuesday at 9:15 AM followed by a funeral mass at St. Paul RC Church at 10 AM. Interment St. Mary s Cemetery. Visiting Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Donations in lieu of flowers to: Alzheimer s Association PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
