Soroko, Julia, of Clifton, passed away on February 14, 2023 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Samuel Soroko. Loving mother of Theresa, Samuel, and Thomas. Cherished grandmother of Jaclyn, Michael, Nicole, Briana, David, and Thomas. Adored great grandmother of Samantha, Fitzwilliam, Colette, Talia and Gia. Julia is reunited with her beloved parents, Simeon and Anna, along with seven brothers and two sisters, which includes her twin sister Josephine and a brother, Reverend Augustine Molodowitz, of whom she was particularly proud.
Julia was born in Clifton in 1928 to parents who had emigrated to America from Ukraine. She spent her entire life here raising her children, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was known for her love of her family, reading, frequenting local yard sales with her twin sister Josephine, and spending time at the Jersey shore, particularly Brielle. Julia was a long time parishioner of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Passaic. She was particularly proud of the fact that she had the opportunity to dance at the 1939 World’s Fair. Later in life, she enjoyed spending her weekends with her husband as a vendor at craft fairs, selling the stained glass he crafted. At the age of 50, Julia learned to drive, a decision which would change the rest of her life. Once she got her first set of wheels, there was no stopping her! She will truly be missed by all of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
