Pagano, Josephine Bartola (Giaconia), 94 years of age, of Clifton, passed away on December 18, 2020. Beloved wife for 61 years, to the late Domenico Pagano. Loving mother of Peter Pagano & his wife Liz, Joseph Pagano, Maria & her husband Anthony Salvatori. Grandmother of Joseph, Dominick, Nicholas, and Matthew. She and her husband were best friends and did not go anywhere without the other. They were attached to the hip all the way up to 3 years ago.
Mrs. Pagano was born in Geraci, Sicily and came to the US on May 3rd, 1960, settling in Passaic before moving to Clifton 53 years ago.
She was a doting mother and grandmother. She adored all of them. Family was the center of her universe. She was an excellent cook; cooking and baking everything Italian and Sicilian style. No one could ever leave her house without having something to eat or drink.
Once her children were old enough to go to school, she worked for the Women’s Garment industry as a seamstress for approximately 20 years. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers’ Union having employment in Passaic and Paterson.
Mrs. Pagano was a member of the Geraci League & St. Bartolomeo Society and a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church. She was devoted to her faith going to church almost daily. At times, since the church was so close to home, she would stop in more often for her own quiet prayer time.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart RC Church in Clifton on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at 11 AM. Entombment Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton.
