Josephine Miragliotta

Miragliotta, Josephine (Aria), 86,of Howell, formerly of Clifton passed away on Friday January 13, 2012 at the Monmouth County Care Geraldine Thompson Center.. Born in Piraino, Sicily, Mrs. Miragliotta married Carmelo Miragliotta on 1951 and immigrated to the United State arriving in Passaic and later settling with her husband Carmelo in Clifton in 1953 before retiring to Brick in 2001. She was a life-long seamstress working for several clothing manufacturers in Passaic and Paterson. In later years Josephine and Carmelo were part owners of an Italian butcher shop in Montclair. They were former parishioners of Sacred Heart and St. Andrew s churches in Clifton. Mrs. Miragliotta is survived by her sons Anthony and his wife Kathy of Clifton, Michael and his wife Lisa of Bridgewater and her daughters Antoinette Mikulewicz and her husband Gene of Manalapan and Teresa Bearse and her husband Kevin of Howell Township, Grandchildren Michela and her husband Joseph, Michael, Stephanie , Steven, Christopher, Ryan, Jack, Luke and great grandson Joseph Anthony. She is also survived by sisters Maria Santa and Caterina. She is predeceased by her husband Carmelo ,brother Samuel and grandson Anthony Carmen. Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton on Monday at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church at 9:45 AM. Entombment Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Sunday 2-6 PM. in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer s Association of New Jersey at www.alz.org/nj .
