John Burtyk

Burtyk, John, 96 of Clifton, passed away on October 31, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Olga (Dutka) Burtyk. Loving father to Roman Burtyk of Royse City, TX, Irene Burtyk of Westfield, and Luba Burtyk of Manhattan. Devoted grandfather to Chiara, Daria, Nina, Julia, Kaiann, Tess and Dane. Dear great grandfather to Kirra and Alice.

Mr. Burtyk was born in Lipivka, Ukraine and came to the United States in 1950 settling in Clifton. He was a Health inspector for 20 years for the City of Clifton. He was a member of the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Passaic, and many Ukrainian organizations.

Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel – 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton on Friday at 9:15 AM then to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10 AM. Interment St. Andrew’s Cemetery in South Bound Brook. Visiting on Thursday from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM. Parastas Thursday at 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to UUARC (uuarc.org), online or by check, and indicate in memory of John Burtyk. Donations will be directed to rehabilitation programs for wounded Ukrainian veterans.

The Family request that you wear a mask if you are coming to the visitation or funeral at the funeral home.
