Joan Mc Nerney

Joan Hatem McNerney, 89, of Barnegat passed peacefully at home on December 24, 2020. She was born in Paterson and resided in Paterson and Clifton before moving to the shore 33 years ago. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 32 years, Joseph J. McNerney, her parents Dr. Elias J. and Grace Merritt Hatem, as well as, son-in-law, James Farley.
She is survived by her four children, Janet Farley of Celebration, FL, Joseph and his wife, Christiana, of Conyers, GA, Joanne Stanek and her husband, Mark, of Fanwood, NJ, and Jean Marie Duemmer, and her husband, Christopher of Lincolnton, NC. Also, she is survived by her six grandchildren, Shannon Farley Johnson and her husband, Bryn, Michael Farley, Bradley Stanek, Tyler Stanek, Allison Duemmer, and SPC CJ Duemmer and great granddaughter, Caitlyn Johnson. Sister of Janet Portelli of CT. Sister in law of Sr. Clare Mc Nerney of Englewood, NJ
Donations can be made in Joan’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Meridian Hospice South, Stafford Township, NJ.
A private graveside service will be held with a Celebration of Life at a later date. The McNerney Family is being served by The Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07013.
