Jereen Rugis

Rugis, Jereen (Parsons), 97, the 9th of 12 children, of Willow Street, PA. on June 16, 2007. Beloved wife for 40 years to Edward Rugis. Loving mother of twin daughters: Jerrine & her husband James Drew of Lafayette, NJ and Darlene & her husband Paul Heller of Plattsburg, NY. Sister to Hattie Mc Cain of Ft. Worth Texas and Ernest Parson of Albuquerque,NM. Mrs. Rugis is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchilren. Mrs. Rugis was born in Canton, Texas and moved to Passaic in 1953. She lived in Passaic until moving to Willow Street, Pa. 20 years ago. Mrs. Rugis was a graduate and Valedictorian of Muleshoe Texas High School, she also graduated with a BSN degree from Baylor University Texas. She was a World War II Navy Veteran serving as a Navy Nurse. Mrs. Rugis was a school nurse for the Passaic Board of Education, she worked at St. Mary s Hospital in Passaic and as a public health nurse for the Passaic County Health Department. Mrs. Rugis was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Passaic. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
