Jean Thelosen

Jean TheLosen of Paterson, NJ passed away on Sunday June 18th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 86. Jean was born on April 10th, 1937 in Paterson, New Jersey, to Michael and Jennie (Casale) Laino. She was a lifelong Paterson resident, living for short periods of time in North Carolina and West Milford. She was married to Walter TheLosen, who predeceased her in 2010. Jean retired from BASF in 1999 and then cared for Kyle Kuren for many years. Jean was a parishioner of St. Gerard’s in Paterson, NJ and took great pride in caring for her family. She was a spectacular cook, and would often travel to her families’ homes to cook “The Best” Sunday dinners. When time allowed, Jean could often be found wondering the aisles of the popular stores; just shopping at leisure. She was also a very generous woman, taking in people who had fallen on hard times, giving them food and shelter, until they could get on their feet.

Jean is survived by her beloved daughter Dianna Lynn Harget and Daniel Conklin, and her beloved son Harry and Sandra Lashley. Cherished grandmother to Christopher and his wife Catherine, Eric and his wife Bethany Harget, Elizabeth and Ian Lashley. Jean is also survived by her great-grandchildren Ella, Zoey, Levi and Owen; and her dear siblings Angelina Laforge, Anthony Laino, Nicholas Laino and Theresa Koch and many nieces and nephews. Jean is also survived by her former husband Charles Lashley. She was predeceased by her grandson Michael, her great-granddaughter Livia, her sisters’ Sister Rose FMA, Margaret Laino, and her beloved Aunt Tina Sarantis.

Visiting will be held on Sunday, June 25th, 2-6 pm at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Ave., Clifton, NJ 07013. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am, Monday, June 26th, at St Gerard Majella Roman Catholic Church; 501 W Broadway, Paterson, NJ 07522. Jean will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Walter at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Ave., Clifton, NJ.
