Irene Diane Gloede, 80, of Clifton, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024. Born on June 24, 1944, in Passaic, NJ, Irene was the cherished daughter of the late Mary and Arthur Arsenault. Irene was a beloved wife to the late Dennis John Gloede, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage before his passing in October 2009. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and community. Irene was a devoted mother to her three children: Dennis J. Gloede Jr., and his wife Trina; Melissa M. Zinis, and her husband Andrew; and Keith A. Gloede, and his wife Tracey. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Brianna, Max, and Brendan, who brought her endless joy. A longtime resident of Clifton, NJ, Irene was an active member of her Catholic church, frequently volunteering at Saint Andrew’s. Her dedication to her faith extended to supporting numerous charitable causes, reflecting her deep compassion and commitment to helping others. For 26 years, Irene worked at the Clifton Public Library, where she fostered a love of reading and learning in her community. She retired in 2016, leaving a legacy of kindness and service that will be fondly remembered by colleagues and patrons alike. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the wake, which will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Ave., Clifton, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew’s Church, 400 Mt. Prospect Ave., Clifton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irene’s memory to Saint Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Clifton or to the Alzheimer’s Association. Irene’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved Dennis and embraced by the grace she so faithfully cherished.
