Ido Gino Martino

Gino (Ido) Martino of Clifton, 97, passed away on January 5, 2025. He was born on March 16, 1927, in Fraine, Italy to Concetta and Domenico Martino. He came to the United States in 1955 upon marrying his wife Emilia, who passed away in 2018. 

Gino was the eldest of 5 siblings.  He is survived by his sister Maria Nucci and brother Alberigo who reside in Italy.  He was predeceased by his two brothers Duilio and Guido. 

 A skilled mason, Gino embraced US Culture by taking night classes to learn English. He dedicated many years to the bricklayers Union, where he served as a delegate and shop steward. Gino held various jobs throughout his life, always eager to help others. He was an active member of the Frainese Society, where he served as Secretary as well as Treasurer. 

 Gino was deeply committed to supporting his children Nancy (Ed) & Dan (Mary); grandchildren Michael (Chelsea), Caity and Erica as well as his beautiful great grandchildren Declan and Jack. 

 Funeral from Marrocco Memorial Chapel – 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 11:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church at 12 PM. Visiting on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 4 PM to 8 PM. Entombment at East Ridgelawn Cemetery.
