Scussel, Henry J., 90, a lifelong resident of Clifton, died peacefully in his home on May 12th, 2012. Henry was a 3 letterman during his years at Clifton High School, earning him a football scholarship to Providence College in Rhode Island. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1942 and served in the 12th Field Artillery, D Battery 462 AAA (AW) Battalion during World War II. He was wounded by friendly fire while serving in Germany. In 1950 he graduated from the College of Mines and Metallurgy/University of Texas, El Paso with a Bachelors of Science in mining engineering. Most of his successful career was spent in the Middle East working for Jones Construction of NYC. He is survived by one nephew Eugene De Lorenzo and four nieces, Grace Mary (Constantin) Hannan, Elaine (De Lorenzo) Flores, Susan Kreisinger and Ellen (Kreisinger) Grabowski.
