Harold W. Murtha

Murtha, Harold W. age 91, died on May 31, 2016 at his residence at Newton's Guest Home in Glen Gardner, NJ.

Harold was born on November, 1, 1924 in Queens NY to Harold Murtha and Katherine Olewine.

In 1953, Harold received a BA from NYU with a degree in education. After a few years of teaching, he got a job with Bendix Corp. (now Allied-Signal) and worked there in business mgmt. until he retired at age 65.

Harold is survived by his daughter Colleen Smith and son-in-law Stephen Smith and his grandson Bryan; sisters Louise Macaluso and Eleanor Prettyman as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys, and his sister Katherine Kreider.

Also, Harold had been a Boy Scout troop leader for many years in the 1950's. He had also been a long time member of St. Paul's RC Church in Clifton NJ. He was also active in civic organizations such as the Clifton "C" Club for many years.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 1st, 2016 at 11 AM at Marrocco Memorial Chapel – 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton, NJ.
