Scussel, Eugene A., 89, a lifelong resident of Clifton, died peacefully in his home on September 5th. Eugene was a 3 letterman during his years at Clifton High School, earning him a football scholarship to Providence College in Rhode Island. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1942 and served in the 12th Field Artillery, D Battery 462 AAA (AW) Battallion during World War II. In 1950 he graduated from the College of Mines and Metallurgy/University of Texas, El Paso with a Bachelors of Science in mining engineering. Most of his successful career was spent in the Middle East working for Janes Construction of NYC. He is survived by his twin brother Henry J. Scussel, one nephew Eugene DeLorenzo and four nieces, Grace Mary (Constantin) Hannan, Elaine (DeLorenzo) Flores, Susan Kreisinger, and Ellen (Kreisinger) Grabowski. Funeral Services were private. Arrangements by Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton.
