Estelle T. (Mauro) DeRiso "Nanny", 94, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 28, 2020 at Stein Hospice Care Center.
Estelle was born on August 1, 1925 in Fairview, NJ to the late Felix and Teresa (Oriento) Mauro.
Estelle was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in North Bergen, New Jersey. She enjoyed cooking and loved children, especially her grandchildren.
Estelle is survived by her daughter, Louann (Joseph) Benjamin of FL; son, Dr. Anthony (Colette) DeRiso Jr. of Sandusky; grandchildren, AJ, Armelle, Noelle, Colette, Ashley and Kristin and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She is also survived by her loving friends, Rita and Shellie. Since moving from New Jersey to Sandusky in 2004, she appreciated the high level of competence, caring and diligence of the under recognized health care professionals of Sandusky, at every level, that she grew to love so much and who loved her.
In addition to her parents, Estelle is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony DeRiso Sr. and daughter, Lorraine DeRiso; sisters, Josephine, Madeline, Florence and Ann and her brothers, Alexander "Sandy" and Joseph Mauro.
Private family services will be held and she will then be reunited after a long 45 years with her husband, Tony at Fairview Cemetery in New Jersey. Marrocco Memorial Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
