Eleanor Edwards was born in Elizabeth, NJ daughter of the late Robert H. and Anna Milton Johnson on July 14, 1923. She lived most of her married life in Roselle Park for 66 years.
Mrs. Edwards graduated from Battin High School in Elizabeth and worked for the Prudential Insurance Co. where she danced with their traveling show entertaining service men during WWII. She was a Girl Scout, Mariner and Assistant Girl Scout leader and worked for the Union Council Boy Scouts for several years.
She enjoyed traveling and loved to read. Music and dance was a very big part of her life and she was a member of the Celebration Singers and Y-Squares Dance Club. She was also a member of Vasa Order of America Local Lodge Linne No. 429 (A Swedish-American Fraternal Organization) and Atlas Chapter #99 Order of the Eastern Star.
Eleanor is survived by three children Frank and his wife Lourdes of Issaquah, WA, Janet and her husband Angelo of Clifton, NJ and Nancy and her husband Steve of Pearland, TX. She is also survived by three grandchildren Gina James, Amy and Lisa Montagnino and four great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother Robert Johnson in 2009, her husband of 66 years Nelson Edwards in 2012, her sister Virginia Bennett in 2013 and her grandson Dr. Charles Edwards in 2013. Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton on Thursday 1at 10 AM. Interment Graceland Memorial Park. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM
