Daria Bekesewycz of Newark, New Jersey, entered eternal life on January 21, 2025; she was 80 years old. Daria was born in Eisenach, Germany, in 1945 to Wolodymyr and Olga Bekesewycz. Daria emigrated with her family in 1952 to the United States of America, settling in Newark. Daria graduated from Irvington High School, class of 1963, and went on to earn a baccalaureate from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey at Newark, in 1967. Daria enjoyed many years as a primary school teacher for St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic School in Newark, St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School in Passaic, and the Newark Board of Education, where she retired at the age of 65. Daria spent her retirement reading mysteries, enjoying time with family, and being an active member of A.H.R.U. (Americans for Human Rights in Ukraine).Daria is the beloved sister of Larissa Herman, cherished aunt of Natalka and her husband Eric Doblosky, and Bohdar Herman and his wife Melissa. She also was the doting great-aunt of Sofia, Katie, Nicholas, and Ben.She is predeceased by her sister, Natalka Bekesewycz, and brother-in-law, Jaroslaw Herman.
