Concetta Spallina

Concetta Spallina (Giordano) 81 of Clifton passed away on September 22, 2022. Beloved mother of Josephine Spallina and Sarina Dzierzawiec and her husband Mike. Devoted nonna to Michael and Jake Dzierzawiec. Loving sister of Anna Maria Giaconia, Joseph Giordano and his wife Frances. She was predeceased by her siblings, Nancy, Josephine, Salvatore, Bartolo, Antonio, Salvatore and Salvatrice. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.

Concetta was born in Geraci Siculo, Italy and came to the United States in 1955 settling in Passaic before moving to Clifton. She was a self-employed seamstress who led a very active life proudly serving as a member of the Saint Bartolomeo Society, the Geraci Citizen League and St. Paul’s Leisure Club. Concetta had a real zest for life spending much of her time baking cookies and knitting blankets for her family and friends. She loved to dance and was always known as “the life of the party”. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel - 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton on Wednesday at 9:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul RC Church in Clifton. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery. Visiting on Tuesday from 4 pm to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
