Charles Paul Janesak

Janesak, Charles Paul, 72, of Garfield passed away on September 19, 2019. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Kody) Janesak. Loving father of Chrissy & her husband Robert D’Angelo Jr. of Twp. of Washington. Grandfather to Charlie, Jeremy, Tyler & Shane. Brother of Geraldine Janesak & the late Gerald Janesak.

Mr. Janesak was born in Passaic and lived all of his life in Garfield. He was a parishioner of SS. Peter & Paul PNC Church in Passaic. A 1965 graduate of Garfield High School, he went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tusculum College and a Master’s degree on a full fellowship from Pratt Institute of Technology where he was inducted in Beta Phi Mu, the International Honor Society for Library and Information Studies.

Charlie taught in the Fort Lee Public School system as a Media Specialist for 39 years and worked as a part-time Senior Reference Librarian from 1970 through 2009 at the Julius Forstman Public Library in Passaic. He was appointed to the Garfield Public Library Board of Directors in 1973 and served as President from 1974 through 2012. He was a member of the NJ School Media Association, the NJ School Library Association and NJEA.


Family and friends are invited to a memorial mass on Saturday September 28, 2019 at 11 AM at SS. Peter & Paul PNC Church, 126 River Drive, Passaic followed by a celebration of his life for at the Crow’s Nest in Hackensack. Arrangements by Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton.
