Carmelo Galofaro

Galofaro, Carmelo, 98, of Mt. Arlington went to glory on January 25, 2013. Beloved husband of 71 years to the late Carmella (De Feo) Galofaro. Loving father of Grace Seventko of White House Station and Josephine & her husband Kenneth Eicher of Mt. Arlington. Brother of Joseph Galofaro and the late Anthony & Frank Galofaro all of Clifton. Devoted grandfather of Theresa, John, Laura, Jessica and Kenneth. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Galofaro was born in Motta D Affermo, Sicily and came to the U.S. in 1924 settling in Passaic then moving to Clifton in 1927 where he resided for most of his life before moving to Mount Arlington in 2009. He was a Produce Manager for Acme Supermarkets in Teaneck for 29 years. He was a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, past Grand Knight of Regina Mundi Council, 4th Degree Member of the Msgr. Stein Council in Paterson and member of the Color Corps. Mr. Galofaro was a Parishioner of St. Paul RC Church in Clifton for 55 years and member of St. Paul's Leisure Club and of the Retail Clerk Union # 1245 in Little Falls. Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton on Wednesday at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul RC Church at 10 AM. Entombment Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Knights of Columbus Color Guard on Tuesday at 7 PM. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer s Association using the link: act.alz.org/goto/carmelo.galofaro.
