Anthony Catanzaro

Catanzaro, Anthony, 91 of Newton, formerly of Wood Ridge, passed away on June 7, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Theresa (Daly) Catanzaro. Loving father of Debbie Catanzaro of Andover Township, Michele Tallaksen of Lyndhurst and the late Donna Moore. He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Mr. Catanzaro was born in Lodi and lived in Wood Ridge for 55 years before moving to Newton 2 years ago. He was a Truck Driver for Mallinckrodt Chemicals in Lodi for 35 years. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and was a 70 years member of the American Legion Post # 199 in Hawthorne. He was also a member of the NJ Boxing Hall of Fame, The NJ Drum Corps Hall of Fame and was Former Vice President of Ring 25 Boxing in Kearny, NJ. He was a former member of the Hawthorne Caballeros & the Holy Name Cadets of Garfield.

Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel – 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton on Wednesday at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church at 9:30 AM. Interment Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visiting Tuesday 5-9 PM.
