Andres Macalino of Clifton, NJ, entered eternal life on November 12, 2024; he was 65 years old. Andres was born on November 23, 1958, to Armando and Mercedes Macalino (Jumaquio), in Bulacan, Philippines. In 1984 Andres emigrated to the United States and met the love of his life, Trinidad Aurelio. In 1986, Andres and Trinidad were married at Our Lady of Sorrows in Garfield. The newlyweds settled in Clifton, realizing the American dream, and started a family. The majority of Andres's distinguished career was as executive banquet chef at the Crystal Springs Country Club, retiring in 2020. He had been with the company for 18 years and enjoyed every minute of it. This was his passion. He expressed his love through the dishes he cooked especially for his loved ones. Signature dishes included beef Wellington, shrimp tempura, and chicken francese. He was kind and a passionate man whose youthful exuberance would light up any room. He loved keeping busy, and even after retirement he could always be seen outdoors working in the garden or on the lawn, fixing something in the house, or cooking on the homemade wood-burning stove that he built with his nephews.
