Maruszczak, Anastasia (nee Zolondek) passed away peacefully on November 26, 2015. She was born in Rawa Ruska, Ukraine on July 5, 1920. She came to the United States from Germany aboard the USS Governor Bradford, a WWII troopship with her husband Wasyl and infant daughter Olga in 1949. They settled in Clifton, NJ, and were parishioners of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Passaic. She was employed as an electronics technician at various companies, retiring from Colt Industries in Elmwood Park in 1987. Her favorite pastimes were supporting her husband Wasyl, who worked tirelessly for the independence of Ukraine, preparing sumptuous meals for her family, offering wise counsel to her family and friends, and reading the Bible. She was an ardent devotee of the Blessed Mother and of gardening. She was a member of several Ukrainian organizations, including the Organization for the Rebirth of Ukraine (ODWU) and the Ukrainian Congressional Committee. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Wasyl and her daughter Olga Tuttle and son-in-law George Tuttle. She is survived by her son William Maruszczak of Wayne, PA, wife Bridget, her daughter Irena Halen of Midland Park, NJ, husband Steven, her grandchildren Emily Tuttle, husband Walter Dearing, Katherine Harper, husband Jim, Nadine and Kristina Maruszczak, Gregory and Alex Halen, Abigail O’Keeffe and her family, and her sister-in-law Eva Zolondek. Funeral at St Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church on Monday at 10 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2-6 PM at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Ave, Clifton, NJ. Parastas Sunday at 5:00 PM.
